Cookies policy

D-ITA website uses cookies to ensure the proper site functioning and improve the online browsing experience. This document provides detailed information on the cookies use, how they are used and how to manage them.

WHAT COOKIES ARE
Cookies are short fragments of text (letters and / or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (the browser) to be reused during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or later, even at a distance of days (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, based on user preferences, by the single browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone). On each subsequent visit of the site in question, the browser sends cookies back to the site itself, so that the latter recognizes the terminal, thus improving the user experience of each subsequent visit to the site.

TYPES OF COOKIES
The legislator has identified two main categories: "technical" cookies and "profiling" cookies.

Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used for the only purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide this service "(see Article 122, paragraph 1 of the Code).
They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or website operator. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which guarantee normal navigation and website use (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site; functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.

Profiling cookies.
Profiling cookies are aimed at creating user profiles and are used in order to send advertising messages aligned with the preferences expressed by the same part of surfing the net. Due to the particular invasiveness that these devices may have within the private sphere of users, European and Italian legislation provides that the user must be effectively informed on the use of the same and thus express their valid consent.

First-party and third-party cookies

Finally, the legislation distinguishes the different subject that installs cookies on the user's terminal, depending on whether it is the same operator of the site that the user is visiting (so-called "first part") or a different site that installs cookies. through the first (so-called "third parties").
